I want from flowmaster 40's to maxflows on my car. It is much quieter at idle and cruise, but I would never call it "quiet".

My maxflows are LOUD. I wish I had used a different muffler.

The Hooker Aerochamber mufflers are great... There not too loud but sound really good when you get on it, plus not a lot of people run them so your car doesnt sound like everyone elses'

We have a set on our 67 dart gt street car (440,11-1,3in w/x-pipe dumped, high 10s on pump gas so far still tuning, alot more in it) its sounds pretty snotty and isnt subtle but I dont think they really sound like flowmasters. We have the same exhaust on our charger with flowmasters instead of the hooker mufflers and it sounds different. I think the hookers sound raspier. I'd post a sound clip of it but everytime I try it just sounds like static on my phone.

And with the Maxflows.

Not the same style of action, from different point of views, but I hope that helps.

I've got 3" X-pipe, tail pipes, and Magnaflows. I'm going to try Borla.

Here's a sound clip of the Magnaflows.

I didn't do any back to back testing, so its hard to say. I'm pretty sure it didn't cost me any power.

I like the Maxflos a lot better, doesn't have that drone that flowmasters are know for.

You might want to check out the "Summit" brand mufflers... they have a lot of different choices that are decently priced.
