Converter changeF-150 09-02-2009, 05:58 PM It's not looking like i'm going to be able to sell my truck. I changed from a 8" converter. It stalled at 5000. I changed to a 9" and it stalls at 4000. My question is, how much do i lower my 2 step? What about my shift point? I think i had some slippage on top end. I'm not clear on a "tight" or "loose" converter. I'll see this weekend!! I'm just ET racing! away 09-05-2009, 10:26 PM Jeff I have 10" PTC converters behind both of my combos that are tight as they can go and I am at 5000. Both are 4.300 stroke combos. 1.22 60 ft. Tight means lower RPM stall loose is higher RPM stall. Just installed this in Steph's car and it picked up a tenth. She is now almost as fast as my car and she is still on gas.
