I went to Gateway this past Tuesday and was in the staging lanes by 5:50pm, did not make a run till 8:20pm and the track was like a f-ing ice rink from about 200ft on. (right lane only , left lane could have been better, don't know never had the chance to try it) Lined back up at 8:45pm and by 9:45pm the line had not moved, I pulled out of line and went home. I have been out there on two other occasions since they got rid of Wednesday night slick T&T, and had there been more slick cars it would have been horrible those nights as well.
This past Tuesday was total waste of time and money. These people that own and run that track have made it clear they do not care about drag racing or racers. There were some rumors I heard at the track that a middle eastern gentleman may buy it, as he had already purchased one of the other Dover owned tracks. Something needs to happen, because the new GM is not getting it done.

Sorry about the bitch fest, but I was hoping to write about making some good passes.

Well 2 and more yrs ago a few racers closer to Joliet,Il. (RT 66 dragstrip) were running at Cordova,Il. and Byron,Il. I think the racers thought they catered to the drag racing national events and nascar track. Maybe Gateway is like that. I don't need these State of the Art Tracks.

Try the Outlaw all stars race Nov 1st. Youll get at least 3 runs, more if you go rounds, the track will be prepped, and you may win some money!!!! I was planning on taking my smallblock car, but its still leaning out and I dont think I can sort it out in time.

Gateway has never really cared about bracket racers or drag racers in general. Just look at the result pages, because they haven't been updated since 2005.

If you were frustrated about getting one pass in two and a half hours, DON'T even think about going to one of there Friday midnight madness bullsh*t events. I got one pass in 4 hours!!!

I heard Al-anabi was thinking about purchasing gateway. I wish someone would.

Sad to say the least. I really liked the layout and track when we raced there in 08...

I clicked onto their track news or something like that this week. They will have a new head manager they got his name and pic there in the write up.

It's a shame that MAR got shut down years ago... I had a lot of fun out there back in the day.

I KNOW. I grew up at the track and there was no bullsh*t. They ran cars through very quickly for being a small set up. I miss MAR. All they had to do was resurface the track.
