These cast aluminum diff covers are found on 08-09 superduty diesel equipped trucks. I paid 50 beans for this one, and I think it looks pretty nice. I might paint it black though. Quite a bit cheaper that an aftermarket cover.

I hate to say this but if you are having issues with a 14 bolt, you will surely have trouble with a 10.25, It is sad, but true, I have gone through two sterlings this year, twisted pinions, broken ring gears.... etc. The pinion is tiny on a 10.25 or 10.50. Mines getting a Dana 80 this winter.

First off, you have a nice looking rig there. Secondly, were you running the 93 and later sterling? I was under the assumption that those years had the stronger pinion. What kind of power are you making, ballpark? I'm not making much more than 500 ponies, and I'm hoping the sterling I just installed will be up to the task. I thought the consensus was that the sterling was good to 700/800 horse? Dana 80's don't fall off of trees around here!! I broke the 60 both times I was able to hook last year. I was hoping the sterling would be enough to handle my engine.

I have ran and broke both early and late models, yes they will hold 700/800 SMOOTH horsepower. Smooth being the key. Truck pulling is hardley smooth I have a truck that DOES NOT bounch, but Hard launches are were they break. My truck is about 500 HP, it is still a street truck. I've broken 4 total, A 14 bolt pinion is twice as strong. Running lower gears are to to make your pinioin last longer, just food for thought. I am running 4.10's and 4 speed with a 205. I broke one of those in half, I launch hard.
I am using a Dana 80 from a 1992 FSUPERDUTY, yes it is a 10 lug, I am going to cut off the ends and put on 10.25 ends and brakes, A 35 spline dana 80 and a 10.25 Have the same 35 spline axles. I gave 200 bucks for the 80.
