just wondering if a stock valve body can be easily built into a stage three. sent my tranny in to have it rebuilt and my friend who took the tranny in told me the guy had a stage three valve body there that he would install for an extra 250$. i told him to go ahead. me bieng so nosy, i pulled the pan to check and it has the ford D7 valve body. the truck is a 78. so i have a sneaky feeling that i still have my original valve body in it.
any thoughts here guys. i know most chevy guys buy the aftermarket body.
any help would be appreciated as i have not installed it yet and i dont want to if i didnt get what i asked for and i cannot reach the guy that built it.

if i were you id try to get ahold of frank merkl from the forum here if youre looking for a valve body upgrade for a c-6 or any other c-6 info. hes also in canada so no border issues for you. look in the general tech section at the c-6 sticky :)

The stage 3 is likely a transgo kit. BUT that is a manual shift.
Most shift kitted valvebodies still use the stock castings and are modified internally. Outside they look stock as you've seen ;) The test is how it shifts

talked to the guy that built it and he says it is a stage two manual shift. he built it for another customer and the guy never picked it up. but i will be getting my mext valve body from frank if he has extras available. thanks everyone who responded. kyle

The stage 2 is good , will give firm shifts with manual first and second and auto shifts in drive .

worked really well but burnt my oil again.not bad but it is slightly burnt. slight smell to it. time to send the torque in for a check i guess. thanks, kyle
