vac pump inlet location

Was just wondering, does it matter which side one hooks the vac pump to? Left or right valve cover? I see it done both ways.

I don't think it usually matters, esp. if both sides oil about the same. I mounted mine same side as pump for convenience, (make sure it's baffled under valve cover connection).
