Diggindeeper 09-23-2009, 02:13 PM McLeod or similar twin disk, or crower, titan, molinari or similar triple if you got a deep enough bell. I know lots of guys were running mcleods twin's with no problems in the 700-800 hp range. hookin78 09-24-2009, 06:47 PM I will have to find the number but Travis of Travs 4x4 will hook you up with a dual disc for about 1400 bucks, works great, grat guy to deal with. PHIL1206 09-24-2009, 07:18 PM where you located i got a guy that does mine. its a single disc that he swear will take 900 hp. i had $900 in mine fastbarry 09-24-2009, 11:44 PM i bought a clutch from south bend clutch for my turbo build. it is rated for 900-1000 ft/lbs of torque and cost me $625 shipped. they said that they could build me a single disc that would hold up to about 1400 ft/lbs tenforty_2 09-26-2009, 06:41 AM http://www.ramclutches.com/ dhlad 09-26-2009, 07:26 AM Tim Carda out of Big Lake MN is a Mcleod dealer and sells twin disc set ups that are made for truck pulling only his number is 763-238-9061 Diggindeeper 09-26-2009, 07:32 AM Tim Carda out of Big Lake MN is a Mcleod dealer and sells twin disc set ups that are made for truck pulling only his number is 763-238-9061 Tim actually uses the product he sells too, with CMP and RRVPA.. he's a good guy mind you i think i saw his truck for sale on racing junk a while back... dhlad 09-26-2009, 09:54 PM He was looking at a different one I believe at the time but right now he is trying to get the motor together. I have one in my truck and love it I think the dual disc set up is way better than a single disc, its deffinatly way more forgiving loganwildman 09-29-2009, 02:35 PM Travis's phone number is 859-991-4996 tenforty_2 09-30-2009, 06:58 PM I didn't have time to type the last time I posted the link. You will find nothing but positive remarks about Travis throughout the truck pulling community! It seems like guys from all over the country have bought from him. I have talked to him on the phone several times and he knows his stuff. I would love to buy from him, but with my financial situation I have been buying my clutch one piece at a time. I didn't want to hassel Travis with that so I went with a ram system. I called them and told them what I was building (HP, it's use etc) and they gave me the following part #'s: -Pressure plate: #471CW $472.00 (12.375 Bolt Pattern) -Disc: #1336 $180.00 -Studs: #492 $103.00 -Shims: #550 $23.00 -Counter Weights #570 $36.00 Ram will sell direct, but they jack the price up to avoid competing with their retailers. The above prices are from summit. I have not bought all of it yet so I can not advise on how well it fits together or performs. Good luck! hookedonpullin 03-05-2010, 10:41 PM How is this clutch working out? It is a single disc correct? Broncoholic 03-06-2010, 08:26 AM Yes I would like to know too how this set-up worked for you digger460 03-06-2010, 07:08 PM He said that he hasn't bought all the parts yet and can't advise on how it goes together or how it performs????? tenforty_2 03-06-2010, 08:37 PM It all went together real nice and easy. I have done a few launches in my back field, but have not pulled with it yet. I hope to get my first hook in June. It is a single disc. Kirk | |
