i spend a lot of my time and money workin on this pig. pretty much replaced, rebuilt, or modified every part on this damn thing. and yet its still not "up to snufF"!

i tend to go through axles, u joints, and even blew out my entire rear 9" third member.
has a 460 with a holley carb, performer 460 intake and the cam that was matched with it, and hedman headers
38.5 in boggers, dana 44 in front, 9" in rear (my weakest points)

the best part of all is here in pennsylvania its got less rust then some 2005 trucks! i brought her back with me from arizona when i went to school there. people thing im stupid for beatin through the mud but, its what i do!

i got tired of replacing axles in my bronco when it had the 44 and the 9 in. no trouble with the 9. but the small axles inside the 44 just werent enough. and i went to 1350 ujoints also. i still have to take the caps off once in a while and replace the ujoints before they brake. but i havent broken an axle in my dana 60 front yet. i run 39.5 x 18 boggers.
i had a 60 in the rear but it started to chew the spiders up. so i went to a 70. but if i do it again. i will go with the sterling. kyle

There is an unlimited amount of aftermarket upgrades for the d44, but for the amount of cash you'd throw at it to make it strong, you might as well find a d60 front axle and throw it in. The 9" is a good diff, but if you get the 60 front, you may want to consider a 70 rear. I run a d60 F/R, front is chromoly 35 spline shafts, rear is still 30 spline chromo shafts, with 800HP on 39.5 boggers and detroit lockers in both ends. The front has never broke anything. The rear has spit up a few axles, but the chromos have held up good so far.
