When switching from 12 to 16 volt battery, has anyone noticed an improvement in et or performance? Im using msd digital 7. If so, would a jet increase also go along with the increased voltage?

No lower ET when my friend changed to 16 volt on his Plymoth 426 Hemi, runs low 10's. Just increased reliability between rounds, battery voltage stays up better between charges. Hope this helps. Electric fuel pump and fans sound like increased output, which should be so with higher voltage.

If using an electric pump it will make the pump spin at a higher rate and can create more heat/wear. If you have an adjustable bypass on the pump you can lower the pressure back down if needed. Some of the 16v batteries have a terminal for 12v on them as well and if this is the case we recommend leaving the pump on the 12v side.

His battery does have the dual voltage terminals. I will be sure and let him know to run the electric water pump on the 12 volt terminal. He might already be, but I'll tell him. Good to know. Thanks.

i love my 16volt setup .......... my BG400 runs just fine ;)....... the whole car loves the extra voltage expecially with 2 kits :)

i run 2 16 volt batteries and alt, the only problem i had was my magnafuel 500 pump was pumping to much fuel-had to drill out the return valve and order a lighter spring -it should work real good on my new combo as well

haha.. 2 kits he said. you're just going to pull the jets out on that second stage and run it wfo right.

No and No.........in fact, ive went faster with 12 volts AND an altenator, than with 16 volts/ no altenator....and I would love to hear someone who has gained going to 16 volts.........maybe in the 1500 hp /up with tonnes of stuff running etc...???

if 16 volts makes it faster its due to a substand fuel pump or ignition.

I did it so I dont have to fool with an alternator, be shocked how many runs a single 16v battery will go with no alt running lots of stuff............:)
