I measured the original drive shaft u-joint and caps for the rear end and am coming up with a 1310 with 1.125 caps
The donor drive shaft I have measures out to be a 1330 with 1.125 caps.
I see Ford makes a 1310/1330 that comes with 6 caps 4 @ 1.0625 and 2 @ 1.125. Short of buying two kits to get the second set of 1.125 caps does anyone know of a u-joint that is 1310/1330 with 1.125 caps at all four?
Thanks

I think you should consider 1330 u-joints everywhere.
The driveshaft is only as strong as it's weakest point, or u-joint in this case. The 1310 joint is really puny. I know how it is to try to get by but I also know what it's like to lose the driveshaft, it aint pretty.

I considered replacing the yoke at first, then when I started researching the conversion driveshafts on the 4X4 sites, many have had success using the 1310/1350 conversion in their rock crawlers or mud trucks which is two sizes. I have read the 1310 is good up to 400 hp and I know that my driving should not warrant "severe driving" the car will be used for cruises and trips to the drive in. I run a 225/70/14 tire and a one wheel peel with 3.00 gears right now.
Future plans include a 3.50 trac-loc unit when funds permit, I will upgrade to the 1330 then.

Well, I learned something new today, I measured the caps that were bolted into to rear end yoke and assumed that all four caps on that u-joint would be the same. I never removed the u-joint from the drive shaft. I have been educated!! Both the 1310 and 1330 can have either 1.062 or 1.125 caps on the two that seat on the rear end yoke but the two caps that are retained in the drive shaft with clips will always be 1.062. Thus the Ford conversion u-joint that comes with 4ea 1.062 caps and 2ea 1.125 caps.
