Detroit Locker question

Is it possible that a detroit locker would cause a slight feeling of sort veering off to one side when normal driving after letting off the gas? Driving normal around town with a standard transmission when driving and then let off the gas the car feels like it pulls to the right VERY slightly. By the way, this is in a 71 Mustang, 460, Richmond 5 speed, 3.00 gears, stock rear suspension with old school traction bars.

I'd say that with the locked rear axle other factors such as a loose bushing on one of the control arms or a small amount of stagger in the rear tires could become much more noticeable.

I have heard of that happening when you have a broken axle.

It is normal.

We have a detroit full locker in the rear of our Explorer and have almost 200k miles with it. With the soft suspension I can almost change lanes by getting on/off/on the gas on a sweeping turn on the freeway.

It also gets locker wiggle when you get on/off the gas when going in a straight line if your tire pressure between the 2 sides isn't the same. I can tell when They get about 2psi different.

Mine does it to.The first time out I thought I ripped out a rear spring mount or something.

Try to get both tires as close to the same diameter and air pressure. The closer this is the less wiggle you'll have.

I ran one for awhile, same feeling when it would unlock in turns, you get used to it.
