what is the proper setting of a vaccum pump?

i want to get the proper tune on my vaccum pump.i have a 466bbf,steel heads prety mild motor,my aerospace pump is adjustable, i have it set at 6psi. of vaccum at 3500.my max rpm is 6500.how much vaccum should it be set at 6500rpm?write me back.:confused:

Well if you got a kick *** ring package and an oiling system thats up to snuff 15-16 psi seems the norm.

If you aint got any kick *** ring package to take advantge of the pump then your fine where your at.

If stuff aint full tilt anything over 12 psi is not gonna be forgiving on the wrist pins.........and there is no reason to go higher.

nos 125 shot now next season i'm bumping it up to a 175 shot of nos.i'm using total seal ring's,canton drag front and rear sump pan.
