Trick flow cam ?

can any one tell me if this cam can be cleaned up, or if it is ok to use still, its got some rust, and feels a little rough but not that bad, it's for a small block 302 , any advice is great.

It can definately be used.That will clean up with a little fine steel wool as long as its not pitted.

ok thanxs somebody told me it may not work on a stock 302 ,91 model piston

would it work, or even be close enough to check piston to valve clearance ?

If my memory serves me right that a Tfs stage 2 cam. It will work I have a few buddys that are running them in there stock shortblock 302s.

Yes I finally found that out. stage 2 , good glad to hear it, are you x-2 on the clean up of the rust ?


what type steel wool should i use, I know, but I'd rather not experiment, Thanxs for the help guys.

if your running stock valve dia (1.78 1.45) i think it will work,but goin to a bigger valve (1.84,1.90,2.02,2.08) or (1.54 1.60) better chk it out.i had to fly cut some stock forged piston running the edel rpm's 1.90 1.60 with a comp grind similar to that one.

You could use some 400 grit emery paper and wd-40 should clean it up nicely.

ok great thank you much sir. I have not found a set of heads yet. can't afford the $1500 set for sure. prob about the best set I can get for trading off all the big block stuff I've got listed in the auction section, thanxs for the info.

any "Streetability" problems? , could you hear it lope good? , and what h.p. do you get with it. ? did you use stock push rod length? or did you have to custom measure?


so far I have the stg 2 cam, trick-flow street intake, bbk1 3/4 long tubes, bassani 2.5 X-pipe (no cats). all this not put in yet, trying to get my heads , figured out, dont have a bunch of money for tw heads, I may need to go with gt40, or something really cheap.

OK great, now if I can save up for the tw fast as cast heads? or would they fit stock pistons, I might get , What like 250 - 270 rwhp. ??


and I did mass air the car, 88 gt, with 91 stock 70 thou miles, I could do a fuel system upgrade if needed, prob not at this level ,lol, not like a big block huh, well when dealt lemons, you know the rest LOL
