Actually we have not had a request for them. We would probably just use the A head flange and move the hole around till we get it centered.

do you bolt the flanges on to the head before you weld the tubes?

Jon
03-06-2006, 11:33 PM
Well first off I am glad I have so many happy customers out there. I really try to make everyone happy. I know how hard it is to make money, and how easy it is to spend it on our hobby. I just try to give you guys a good quality product at a reasonable price, because I know thats is exactly what I want and expect.

Its almost that easy. The hard part is making the stock oval port tube round again so it will fit inside my round TFS flanges. What I did was cut off about 2" of the primary till I got back to some nice round pipe again and then I added a new round 2" piece back into the flange. You dont have to have them bolted to the head to weld. I used .125 thick flanges on my heads and any warpage is easily pulled out when you tighten them up. Thats why I prefer the thin .125 thick flanges is because they are able to form better to the head than the thicker ones.

let me know If I can help you.

I'm in the process of building a set of step headers using the ones you made for my tfs streets. A 2 1/8" is a bit of a squeeze but it goes. Went from a 2 1/8" to a 2 1/4" and then into a 2 3/8", I welded the insides of the tubes to the flange and then silicon bronzed the outside of the tubes. Not to bad of a job, just lots of crap to go around.

These are still 8 individual flanges with 2 different bolt patterns in each flange. They should fit 4.900 bore spacing or the new 4.840" deal.

Im not sure a 2." pipe will even cover the corners of the port, you might want to measure diagnoly to see the min. pipe size you can run.

Since you don't do stainless...
Is it possible to sell me the cad drawings of the 460 EFI flanges?
I found a shop nearby that can make them in stainless for me, and since i'm on the other side of the globe anyway, it wouldn't hurt your business in any way :)

pm me if there are options please, thank you.

On the opposite side of that, can you cut an A460 flange from a file I provide? I currently have a set from you, but I want a slightly different location and shape for the exhaust port.

Just let me know if you can and if the price is different.

I can give you just about any file format you may need: dwg, dxf. sldprt, igs, step, ect.

Have a good day!
Michael

yes I can do that. Have nothing else drawn on the file except what you want cut.
for example, no bluprint template back ground stuff.
$92.00
Send the .dxf file to me so I can look at it if you like.

thanks

Jon,

I was thinking of picking up a set of the older FMS A460 heads. I currently have the A429 heads on my engine. the primaries on my current headers are 2". The exhaust flanges for the FMS heads are square. would you be able to provide the flanges for 2 inch primaries along with about 2 inch extentions attached to the flanges? I also have a problem that some of the pipes go down right after the flange (I'm using the Crites headers in a '68 mustang. I have some extra space since I notched the shock towers). would you be able to help with that as well?

Thanks for your help,

Rob

Yes I offer flanges with stubs welded in. $175.00 shipped to your door.
I cant offer any advice with clearance issues of headers, sorry.
I can tell you that I have done exactly what you are talking about thou. I cut the flanges off of my SCJ headers I built and weld stubs in my new A460 flanges and slipped them over my header tubes and welded them together.

I need a set of flanges for the Profiler heads, (can you do a dual pattern with BBC also)headers will be 2 3/8 SS, can you make the flanges in one piece or do you have to do them individualy. Standard thickness (1/4) or so would be fine. What i'm doing is buying a set of Borla upswept headers for a BBC and changing it over for my BBF. Please let me know if this is something you could help me out with.

Thanks, Dallas
