    Phil,

No they can't. You would need longer valves, talller rocker studs and they are just way too much valve spring for the A-429 CobraJet heads. Chnage the springs.

    Charlie,
Posted some pics of heads. Based on what you see can these heads accept 948's installed at correct spring height you mentioned ?

    Thx
    Phil

    Woody 79,

Yes, I have ported several sets of the old style heads. In fact we have some of them in here right now. The short side radius is the area that needs a lot of work in order to help them.

Charlie I have a set of old style A heads. Was wondering if you had any luck making those heads flow. They are going on 485 ci motor for truck pulling, if so I need to visit you.

Charlie- Scott tells me you di a trick motor with a small cam and TFS streets and dyno'd it, from his memory it was: 600+tQ and 470+ power and only 9:1. Do you have any key words that will let me find it on the board? I am just not finding it

    Clay,

Thus far IMO, you have not committed any errors that you need to worry about. I believe many times that ARP gives misleading torque info, in regards to their products. On final assembly I would just torque the alum. heads to 135 lbs with oil on the threads. Maybe let things set overnight and go back and check the center studs, because they seem to loosen up in my experience.

    Hope this helps,
    Charlie
