Funny thing is when I try to set the valve lash.. The valve spring on the #8 seem to have a bounce to it . Like it was binding or sumthing .. Hopefully it's nothin major .. Bad lifters ??? Mess my cam lobe up...? I tear it aprt this wknd n see ..
Battery is new .. Starter is a summit brand mini one... It's crank but slow .. It seem like lack of ground or sumthing ...I'll crank for couple second 3-5sec.. Stop try again slow crankin n starts.. Bout less than a minute the ticking noise is heard from the #7-8 valve cover area... .... Shut off n left it.. Took cover off n check the rockers n push rods.. #8 pushrod was not sittin in the cup portion of the bottom of rocker .. I'll have to pull the intake off. N see what's wrong ..
It won't crank over at all? Like the starter isn't cranking? If so ur starter is gone or you have an electrical issue. Check connections to starter before and while cranking. If the starter cranks but just doesn't fire then it's either fuel or ignition related. And then u need to verify connections and proper voltage. Verify fuel is present. The fact that u stated slow cranking means ur battery is going/low voltage or ur starter is going. You could of used the battery up to start it and then doesn't have enough juice to crank again so charge the battery and keep a charger/starter on it while cranking. If the starter is faulty it will act the same way and possibly get heat soaked depending how hot u got the engine etc or it's just going. Can't tell for sure without more info and u confirming voltages.
It had alot left in here since it was pulling hard before hitting the wall at 5400 about 3/4 way down the track. It ran 13.4 at 112mph with like a 2.2 60'. BUt thas with short shifting due to exhaust popping and lots of wheel spin . pretty sure my issue was the ignition and prob alittle valve float.
Got it all back together when i got home and upgrading the MSD box to a mallory 6AL and new MSD coil and it started reving alittle better. I also purchased some MT ET streets drag radials and stud girdles as well as a prosystems 1000cfm carb. I dont feel like messin with the holley anymore but it was running pretty good but alittle rich on the low RPM on the streets.

Ride had some issues. But it was running ok about 6-8 weeks ago when i took it to the track. The carb wasnt tuned comepletly but I had to run her bc my friends rented out the track for the hole day. I had 315/35/17 street tires on it when I went and my 60' showed it big time lol. I was spinning off the line, then throughout 1st and the beginning of 2nd shifts. The car was popping alot at 4500 on up and wouldnt rev past. timing was set at 15 inital and 34 total, So i kept putting timing in it every pass, eventually it dropped 5mph and had about 21 inital and 40 total timing. Car was barely spinning to 5400rpms before it stopped reving. Then my last past the engine felt ruff and while idling in the pits i heard 2 things fall off in the valve covers. Got it home and found 2 rockers on the pass side #3 cyl fell off, rocker worked its way completely off and nothing broken. Lost oil pressure bc the lifter popped into the valley.
