Meant to mention in my last post that the flow numbers we got were from a 'local' flowbench which to my understanding is 'stingy'. The numbers were also without any plates or pipes. Steve.......................

Whats your "combo', and whats it heading into? Theres a few things I'd definitely change with the combo If & when we do it again...........

Thanks, I was confused as to what the combo on the dyno was, I hope with any luck to crack the 650hp range and have the torque that you showed in you results cause I was thinking maybe 560-575 for torque so if its better than that I will be very happy. Thanks for the reply

Yes the heads were ported. The INT side was opened to CJ size from the int side to within a inch of the short turn, and the EXH runner was just cleaned up lightly. The camshaft used on the dyno is what I had posted for specs(SFT 260*/266* @.050).

The Cyl head flow; INT: .500"=338cfm .600=353cfm .700=366cfm The cam is 260*INT/266*EXH @ .050" ground on a 110* Lobe Seperation Net lift worked out @ .653INT/.686
the dyno sheet shows that you posted with the results 651/665 for cam.
these are fully ported tfs head flow numbers
Just a little confused on which cam was used and if the heads were fully ported and polished
just as a comp tfs 325 heads flow .500-343 .600-370 .700-389

ran across this build very close to mine. dove block zero decked flattops 0.030 3.85 eagle crank scat h beam rods tfs 290 heads with some port work not going to post all the numbers at .600 int was 328 now 345 exh at .600 was 212 now 236 a little better, cam is a solid lifter custom ground 110 with 266/272 dur and .658/.678 lift heads were milled .030 also comp should be close to 13.1 tfs 4150 style intake with a custom built quick fuel 1050 not sure where the timing will end up started at 28 toasted the trany before we got any real times on the combo c6 4000 stall 4.57 gear 295/55/15 mt drag radials at 3900 pounds street car looking for some 10 sec passes we will see. forgot the biggest limiter for me is the 1 7/8 headers unless I want no power steering. anyone got a hp guess for my combo

Thanks! Yes the 290cc versions were used, but the INT ports were opened to the "CJ" runner size and some mild 'clean-up' done on the EXH side.

Nice Build. Did you use the street style 290 cc trick flow heads? I am considering using some for a similar build..

My friend got atleast one outing with the Fairmont this last summer. Hes been bogged down with work so hes going to get a roll bar installed this winter and some better rear tires. The car ran some 10.90's in full street trim(Nitto drag radials 275/60 full exh etc)@ a 130MPH. Definetly some potential for mid-low 10's! The transbrake has yet to be used. All in all he was very happy especially since he drove the car to and from the track(30 mile round trip)............

Well the eng is in the car. He has been working on the header fitment and I am helping with the rest of the exh system. Hope to have the car ready in a month or so. I'll get some pics up here tommorrow..........

|Devildog||On the POS I am trying to port it as much as possible and do CJ port match. Opening up the carb flange and plenum....and thinking of doing up a HVH 4500 adapter like I saw on an EMC engine years ago....Porting the heads and need to flow them and see how they are doing (until I am happy), which is never....lol. The Victor is a 4150 flange as well....not sure how I will address the flange on that one, although it is the same as a 4500 version. Just need to redrill it....might just use it like it is at first with my 4150 1050 to get it running and then go from there. The car is just giving me so much work to get back together, I have not had time to finish up all of the engine work yet........Keep us posted on your progress.....I sure like the heads you are running....D|
