I've tried to read all threads on the differences between the '68/69 vs 1970 up water pump but can't find the answer I need.

Question - Can I use the '70 up High Flow (Al) for my 1969? [example - Edelbrock 8866 - Edelbrock Victor Series Mechanical Water Pumps $165 @ Summit]
The newer ones are longer; and I have to change my pulley anyway.
I have a '69 429 Thunderjet that I'm building for a new Cobra build. It looks like there are several High Flow (Al) water pumps for the '70 & up - not much for the '69. I stopped at a speed shop (Power by Ford - Orlando) and the gaskets seem to match up along with the height (length) of the pulley flange (~ 5 3/8"). The water inlet is pointed lower on the '70 - the '69 points to 3:00....shouldn't hurt.

Also my engine has a single grove on the Harmonic pulley - I'll need to change this or it'll slip - right? Also, what will I need to do for the pulley ? Any suggestions ?

Thanks,
PJ
