What can you tell me about a Holley 80508-2?

A guy I know wants to trade me his 750 cfm #80508-2 Holley for my 6 month old edelbrock #1405 600 cfm. Both have electric choke. My carb is in very good shape and I'm not sure about his. He said it was rebulit, but leaked a little around the main body. He said his looks new. Is that a good carb? Would you trade? Is that an older or newer carb? The main jets are 72's and the rear has a plate??? I think it is a vacuum secondary. Would that work for my mild ~400hp street driven 466?

thanks

I'll try and help a lil..

Do you have Adobe? If so go here..

http://www.holley.com/TechService/Library.asp

Click on Carb Numerical Listing.. That will tell you about the carb in question..

Ok now that we have that out of the way.. If this is a street car.. Install nothing smaller then a Vac secondary 850.. If ya say no way.. I got 17Mpg on the highway with my old Mach1 (466 D3 heads).. using a 850..

Anyways.. there ya go some info.. and a comment..

nothing is in it for me except that I need a larger carb and this guy needs a smaller carb. My carb is in perfect condition, but it's just too small. The other guy said his was a good carb, but I don't know him too well and don't know the internal condition of that carb.

Les,

An 850? Right now I have an 850 dp and I don't like it. I have heard that those dp's like a lot of cam and my cam is mild (.504 lift). I just can't seem to get mine set right. My engine will spin 5500 rpm max. I guess a vacuum sec 850 would work better than my mech. dp 850?

thanks
