HELP
I have instaled a MSD 8982 retard box in conjunction with Nitrous.
The instructions indicate to conect the gray wire to the nitrous solenoid witch creats a ground and when 12v is applied to the solenoid the retard is activated.
When I do this it pulls all the timing away and when I remove the wire from ground the timing is back but motor is slugish. This is just backward from what I read.
I removed it from the system and went back to the straight MSD 6AL, engin runs much crisper not sure if I am missing smothing or?

Wiring from MSD box.
red to 12v key
Black to ground
Yellow to whits on MSD 6AL
Gray to nitrous sytem.

MSD problem

Spent some time on the phone with MSD Tech today after talking to 3 techs I got one that said the extenchion lead from the Box to the distributor might be braking down " Noise as he called it".
I removed it and all is good now go figure never heard of such a thing but what the heck always willing to learn.
He also said the extenchion leads go bad after a while and should be replaced, know if I could only find some way of testimg it.
I want to that all who replied to my Problem.

The wires running from the box to the dizzy MSD units. The install instructions state not to run those wires near any other wires for the most part like a foot away or interferance with the signal can take place.

MSD offers shielded replacment wires to remedy the issue. I purchase the grounded shielded version right of the bat now. It might be easy to run wires far from otheres on a pure race vehicle but can be tough to do in a fully optioned street vehicle.
