Building it for the strip not the for the streets putting a mild 460 built mostly off here with used and new parts. The trans c6 the stall still in ? until I get the truck finish and wieght of it.Putting a 12 point roll cage from Applied Racing Technology (A.R.T.) out of Clearwater FL. Goig with a 9in. ford rear with 4 link gears still in ?Going to be moveing the engine back alittle to help with the wieght tranfer and going with motor plates. I know for the mild 460 it is a little over kill, but if go with more cubes and hp later on I want the truck to hadle it with out changing everything.Heres some pics of the truck and when I got the old motor out and dash out of it.
I was expecting it that the reason I went ahead and bought the glide and started buying part for it when I would come across cheap stuff for it. I can say the 552 has some power and tq for sure it still ran 102.73 in the 1/8 with real soft launch as soon as I nailed it is started acting up but I stayed in until the 3rd/drive shift and it hit the rev limit I let out it caught I got back in it until it started slipping again right past the 1000' mark got out of ran 127.73 in the 1/4.Before I got back to the trailer it don't wont to pull so I let it cool and help Rick on his.
Just a little update got the glide built had a pro-brake put in it now to save a little more for the converter, billet yoke for trans and rear end, and get the shifter fixed for the pg.
Just a little update bought the converter Monday should have it next week. My winter plans is to get the trans in and go ahead and swap the frontend out to a strut frontend to drop a few more pounds off the truck.
My plans changed just a little I built me a small shop and have it where I can use it not finished but enough to work in. The frontend will be on hold until this winter I got all the big stuff for it just don't have time to cut the front out and rebuild right now. Working on getting the trans swap done right now had to order a few things and should have them by Tuesday.
Transmission is in and finished now waiting for my Primer Plus to get here from Killer Ron's done some cutting to make some carb clearance for the Primer Plus plate. Trying to figure out which scoop I want to use I got a 69 Mach 1 scoop off my 69 F100 I had on it. Then I got a 4'' cowl that came off my buddy's car. I like the looks from the 69 scoop but not sure if it will help with air flow like the cowl will. I went ahead and change the windshield to Lexan.
I went with the cowl, painted yesterday should be cured to rivet on tomorrow. The way it would have to set the Boss scoop I don't think would look right it would have to be mounted so the back would be at the windshield. I got primer plus on it and windshield finished put a few rivets to hold the scoop last night.
i just replaced the motor in my 2001 ford ranger and now it won't move (I mean it will go into gears but absolutely won't move) it is an automatic tans 4x4 i have puled the motor 3 time try to figure it out i so far i cant. I've tryed leaving the torcecoverter on, taking it out with the motor and filling it with atf didnt work, so i pulled it a 3rd time filled the tourconvertar with atf and put it back on and the installed the motor and still nothing won't move im stuck please help?
Sounds to me the converter was not lock in the pump and when you bolted the engine back to the trans it busted the front pump. Sounds like the trans needs to come out and be fixed.
Made it to the track for TNT last night finally all in all it was a good night the little truck is making the power for sure. Still got some chassis tuning to do but the track was slick not much prep. ran 6.41 it still has some more in it. I forgot to turn the camera on the 1st pass but here on of the 2nd it was a 6.84 pass you can see how slick the track was https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ed57zRy_xiI&feature=youtu.be
Planning on some more TNT on the 27th down at SGMP it is the best track around here they prep the track good for TNT. I am going to see what it will do in the 1/4 also if I don't start getting in the rev limit at 7000 if t does I will only make 1/8 passes.
Yes SGMP and yes got the 60' to 1.39 on the last pass
1st pass 1.60 60' 6.83 106.28 1/8 11.17 94.59 1/4 rear chassis only half gas my pedal bent and hung on the trans tunnel you can hear right at the end me smash to the floor finally then let off
I had a few guys trying to buy it told them not for sale one came over and ask how much was I spraying he seen the primer plus plate under the carb. Told him it all motor no spray that is just a gas primer plus to warm the engine up to temp on gas before I turn the alky pump on. Then he ask you want to sale the truck said nop, then had another guy come over and open my door when I backed out to go the staging lane and ask me how much I wanted for it don't want to sale it. Don't know why they thought it was for sale but don't think they would want to give what I would have to have out of it.
Well to hot to go to the track and play right now so I am going to change the frontend out and put the rx-7 frontend under it should be done with the swap by Oct for some more TNT to see if I can get it down in the high 5s
