Hello guys, first build and am wondering what you gus would build on a tight budget for a tire frier. Its a 2wd with a c6 and 3:50 limited slip rear end. My engine is a 76 f150 460.. The bottom end has to be completely redone. Would about 2000 get me a new bottom end?

It's a long box. I bought the frame perches from a 95 f350 with a 460, and bought the actual mounts at car quest for 35 bucks a side from a 95 as well. So I'm into it about 125 bucks for the mounts but the thing is that they are factory mounts. Not some cheesy l&l product

Looks like a nice starting point. Right now I'm building my 460 for my truck. And with a budget of 3000 and shopping for used parts and the best deals I can I should have my whole motor completely done carb to pan including machine work. I went to the machine shop and let them know what I wanted and what my budget was and they were more than helpful and have given me lots of advise.

my self i would rebuild the bottom end, leave it stock and get a set of aluminum heads.that should give it a good wake up call. then if later on you want to stroke it out you already have good heads.aluminum heads are all over in price hit ebay.they run from $900 and up complete and a rebuild kit starts at about $400 and up.but you could stroke it for around $2000 or less dipending on how much the machine work would run you

I'm shooting for low 13's high 12's as well. My motor is a 1975 460 getting bored 30 over with 22cc pistons and c9ve heads that I have ported following Scott's instructions on the rhp website set up with proform roller rockers block zero decked should be right at ten to one. For a cam I'm getting a custom grind from Scott. I'm hoping to get a good used performer rpm and run a 780 cfm hp Holley double pumper. I'm also running a c6 and a nine with 355's. would like to see one hp per cube but idk machinist figures 475 at least.

Just of the motor before it went to the machine shop. Everything has been cleaned crank and rods are getting done next then ordering my motor kit I'll post some pics as they come. I had the carb, the motor and trans were 150 and I'm buying as many used parts as I can with out sacrificing reliability. I trade my d3ve heads to my father for his d0ves so he could drop the cr of his 69 429. It doesn't hurt that the machinist gives a deal if I pay cash and that he is excited to do something other than a small block chev. I plan on getting the motor run in on the dyno and I'll post numbers once I do.
