There is no "oil problem" to battle. Flat tappet cams can and do still deliver an excellent service life. Just use the right oil, and there are plenty to choose from on the market these days.

My shipping weight on an average shortblock is 450 pounds including the crate and pallet, so probably 390-ish? Alum heads are about 70 pounds a pair, so ~460 pounds...
