The valves in those heads are in a non-stock location, so you're going to have V/P issues unless you notch the pistons, or run a small cam.

meh, looks like a fun project car to me. Leave the exterior alone, gut the rest (if there's anything there), cut and weld to make parts from donor cars fit, take frequent breaks to enjoy frosty cold...

Yes, you can use an Isky-like tool to flycut the pistons if needed, but you might not need to depending on the size of the cam and type of piston.

Notice that the heads in the link above have a CJ intake port. Edelbrock heads are available with either a 290cc std manifold size, or a 310cc CJ manifold size.

The ONLY heads with standard size and location ports are the Edelbrock RPM heads. Don't pay any attention to the pecking order chart.

There aren't any really accurate HP ratings on cranks because there are far more variables than just raw HP.

At the end of the day, you're not going to find anything stronger than a 4340 forged...

Nothing to do with the cam, but non-synthetic is what you want for break-in. You need a little wear in the process of seating the rings, and making all the parts "happy" with each other.
