I set mine at .018/.020 cold then when the engine get warmed up I recheck at .022/.024 mine always seem to loosen about .004 from cold to hot, hope this helps

Chris, thats a little pricey for that model trailer, like obxboader said his was 3800. from the factory, and is the going rate for a bare model, I'm looking as well :)

I have the same set up as you and my pushrods are 8.850 intake and 9.150 exhaust with the comp 836 lifters and Motorsports 1.73 rockers, hope this helps

a 950 is a lot of carb, but I would block the rear P/V and put 82/84's and use a P/V in the front and maybe a 2.5-4.5 inch vacuum and like 72/74's in the front, keep in mind it may be a little lean...

you need to see a different machinist because just about everyone that uses these heads puts bigger valves in them and they also use whats call a bowl hogg to make the seat area larger for the bigger...

well I would say that maybe it was not all the way in the groove or the groove is not deep enough for the lock??? or maybe you bent it when installing them and they lost the tension???

none, I had a .030 429 with TRW forged pistons and it had a .680 solid roller with no mods to the pistons so I would put a .600ish lift cam and lifters and a Victor 460 and run it then add NOS to go...
