Those are not necessary and it's not a good idea to cut back on the oiling to the cam bearings anyway. At 600 horsepower I don't think I'd sweat using the stock caps all that much but getting there...

I've built an engine for a Ford F700 truck with EFI but that engine was a 429 Lima not a 460. With that said the engine had the very heavy duty 429 Lima forged steel crankshaft which could be useful.
