Cast iron block welding isn't that hard to do. A carbon rod that has been run through a 7/16x14 die. partly "threaded" on where the missing ear was, can be welded easily.

Yep, we are in the wrong business! :) The gano filter does have it's purposes though. The amount of crap in your water-jackets even after the blocks/heads have been baked/hot tanked is amazing.
