100LL is not a performance fuel. You'd be better off, IMO, mixing a 100 octane or running an already blended race gas.

I've been siliconing my headers and manifolds for years and it's worked great.......as long as the mating surfaces are flat. If they aren't then even the best wiz bang expensive gasket won't hold....
