Too big of a turbo won't spool until a higher rpm. Too small will choke and create a lot of heat at higher rpm.

I'd suggest a tuning kit to get the most out of that carb. I had to richen my 1407 up a lot. I have a 429 w/ ported d0ve heads and mild cam, edelbrock performer intake.
