I've never heard of extra clearance on the rods and mains. If you do not have a closed cooling system you want extra clearance on your bore due to the cooler block temps.

Who makes the best E-85 carb and what size would you suggest for a 523. 4.3 X 4.40 with 6.8 rods and P-51 heads topped by a Victor with dominator flange.

Thanks, I knew there was some reason. I guess I'll get a Scat 4.3 crank and keep the same combo I had. I was pretty pleased with it until the block gave up.
