The 8.8 is an excellent alternative for the 9" if you cannot find a decent 9" that is.

The Explorer disc brakes can be used on a large bearing 9" there are a few do it yourself articles on the net to explain the procedure if you want to go that route.

The 8.8 can be very strong but, they are a hassle to change gears in though.
