Default t18 work with a 460?

I have a 460 and wanting to run a manual transmission behind it in my gasser! Would a t18 be good or bad to run behind it? Not much done to the motor.

The answer in a word is ...no. Yes it will bolt up and it will stand the power...BUT it is a truck transmission. Huge gear spread between 1st and 2nd...(hence "granny low") no speed shifting, no aftermarket shifters...( shifter is internal ) Just a bad choice all around for a street driven gasser. You need either a toploader 4 speed or one of the 5-6 speed transmissions out there. Just to let you know most people that have a T-19 in their trucks never use first gear in normal driving.
