They can make decent street heads.
They're very plentiful, so price should reflect that.

well it would depend on condition
Bare 0-200
complete, rebuild needed 100-300
good condition stock, 200-400
rebuilt small valve 300-500
Rebuilt large valve 400-700
professionally ported 500-up......

kind of a broad guideline...
depends a lot on location and whatnot.

[QUOTE=zakt;861124]no price, what would be a good price for those...[/QUOTe 100 bucks stock off the motor. IMO Be better off finding some C8's C9's, or DOVEs if you are starting out with bare heads. I think Lem has some.

Unhappy

If you can provide some information with regard to displacement and intended use we can better guide you as to which castings would work best.

The D3's have plenty of potential as do the early castings. Chamber size is the primary difference as it is larger in the newer castings.

Professionally ported they will support every bit of 700 HP with large valves etc and even budget ported they will still go 450 to 500 or more.

With the blow out pricing on the frpp scj's its hard to sell ported iron right now let me tell ya...

I would rummage through the junkyards.

I pulled mine out of a 76 or 77 van. The place is one of those "same price for every part" and all of the ohv heads are like $30 a piece. Paid $75 out the door with all the BS fees and taxes and core charges they put on you.
