I am putting a 460 in a 1984 mustang that had a v6 in it, will the stock K member and suspension work? I have the 460 swap mounts and pan that I am going to use.

Are you sure it was a V6 and not a straight 6? The V6 k members are the same as the smallblock V8 k members but the straight 6 k members are different. They make bolt in mounts for a 460 with the v8/v6 k members but I don't know of any for the straight 6. Good luck, Ken..

Ya its a v6 the engine is still in the car. It only has 120,000 original miles on it. Will the stock springs and shocks work or do you need to buy stronger ones?

I recomend getting v8 springs,struts should work fine.I have used the v8 springs before and they set good with the big blocks.

Early 1982 was the last time the 200 I6 was put into the foxes.
I personally am running the stock v6 springs in my 83 Capri. Several people on this board are running 4 cylinder springs with no problem, they actually help the chassis unload and place the weight on the rear axle faster. He is right, the v6 K member is the same. You may end up having to space the K member to get the motor to sit a little lower in the chassis, or use a tall cowl to get an air cleaner to fit under the hood. I said screw it and decided cut a hole in the hood and will be putting a tunnel ram on it.
