I've seen some of the later Ford hemi prostock heads that have the same combustion chamber as our heads but they have a dish that's been milled into them that sort-of mimics the old a441 Ford hemi prostock heads true hemi chamber. I was wondering why the current prostock stuff had the dish. This is obviously a modification that wasn't used on the earlier high hemi b441 prostock heads.
The heads Filucky posted are the Roberts design with a centered verticle wedge chamber which gives a double quench area (very effective). Some alky racers we know mill out the chambers to a full hemi, just like the older AR A-441 heads. I don't know what you mean by "milled dish"?
The dish is just to lower the compression ratio. I run B441 heads on my 645 inch Comp Eliminator engine and we had to add a dish to the piston to get the ratio down to around 15.8:1. The B441 head has a relatively small combustion chamber when used on large engines.
