I will be putting the 460 I am building (shooting for close to 400 hp) in my 78 F250 (weighs close to 5000 lbs). It will be in front of a BW T18. I have a choice between a factory style 12in. clutch or a high tension 11in. clutch. I would be afraid to go less than that and I can't afford anything more than that. So which setup will allow me to use the truck as a DD then go pullin and muddin on the weekends and stand up to the abuse.
I would keep an eye on Ebay i just bought a centerforce dual friction 12" clutch set for $200 to put in my 77 F-250 its part# DF200015 and sells around $350 in jegs. And i picked up a new Ram Premium 12" set part# 88775 for $80 + shipping last fall, my cousin is running it behind his 400 in his 78 F-250 and says its a real good clutch. I really like the Ram brand and centerforce clutches.
