Ok thanks! I dropped off everything at Wild Cat Performance in Adel Ga yesterday. My Crank is an eagle 4340 externally balanced crank. What's the odds of it needing mallory? Thanks
Ok, i got my rotating assembly back from the machine shop and as far as i can see it all looks good. It didnt need any weight add. Looks like the front counter weight got drilled alot and one of the drill holes got a little thin to one side. Is that ok? Im gonna mic it again tonite and i think the oil slingers color is slightly differant. Would that be from the cleaning?
Thanks
Location of the drill holes is not vert important. Even breaking through on one side happens quite often when a lot of weight is to be removed. Looks ugly but, structurally doesn't matter.
Its an eagle 4340 and are externally balanced. I got it from c&c motorsports. But now looking up this crank on thier site it does say internally balance. I think i remember asking for it to be external or they only had it for external at that time.
Well, if it's external they would have had to have your balancer and flexplate or flywheel. If they did not and it is balanced, then it's internal. Makes a big difference, obviously.
Oh yes, i had to take the complete assembly. The color is right. As i lubbed it i noticed the color came back as lub got on the slingers. I also micced each journal across the width of each and they all measured what they're suppose to measure.
