i wonder if this is based even loosely on the new Boss engines that are suppose to be introduced in the f-150s and maybe mustangs?

It is Ford/Force version of the NHRA 'spec' TF Hemi. Nothing like any production block at all.

so the typical blocks that mopar and chevy uses in nitro are how big?

500 cubic inches

500 is the largest NHRA allows in top fuel and prostock.

500 cubes.

Engines are Rodeck, TFX or Brad Anderson Enterprises. All are very similar. This motor is Force/Ford's redesign of the basic TF engine architecture.
