Default Kaase Boss 9 head specs

I have read up on everything I can find on the Kaase Boss 9 heads. Does anyone know what the port volumes are? Would they work good on a lower rpm jet boat (5000 rpm) with ci of 550-600? I would love to build a nice 545 or 589 with a cent supercharger on it. I have a 501 right now with Edelbrock's on it making close to 800 hp on pump gas. I would like to hit the 1000 hp mark if I could.

Well right now I am making close to 800 with a 501 ci on 87 octane and 5psi boost. Thats 1.59 hp per ci. So a 589 should be able to make 1000 hp on 93 octane and 6 or 7 psi boost. Don't you think?

So back to my origanol question. What is the port size on the Kaase head? Do you think that the sizing would be right for a 589 and that rpm. Come on I know you know, I will even say please  .

I'll dig up the out of the box flow numbers me and Charlie came up with last year for you tonight.

I think they will work every bit as good as a set of A460's IMO.

I Haven't cc'd them so I'm not sure on the Port Volumns, but I'd guess them to be similar to a set of SCJ's. / P-51's

A 545 or 572 with those BOSS heads and 7 pounds of boost??? - EASILY...!
But, your pump will now be going over that 5000 RPM you speak about...

That's the neat thing. I have designed a twin pump drive for one engine. I have made about 5 of them ranging from 500 hp 502 to 400 hp Cumins deisel's. So I can hold it at 5000 rpm. It will just pull alot harder.

It will pull the hardest at the engine's PEAK TORQUE; whatever that may be.

That's how I usually biuld the motor. I try and get the peak torque to the rpm I want to run. You would think that it would be an easy build but most engine builders don't get it. For our race boat we run it at 6300 rpm and thats were the torque peak is but the hp peak is around 7500. When we tell guys what cam we have and head they always think that the cam is to big and the heads are to small.
