Default Kaase Boss 429 head conversion

Maybe I missed it but I haven't seen any posts about the new heads that Jon Kaase has come out with. He made 746 hp with a 429.

http://www.jonkaaseracingengines.com...bbf-heads.html

There's an interesting article in a magazine called enginemasters also.
Yes/no, likes/dislikes?

Anybody running them yet?

thanks,
I did a search but did not find that.
I'm wondering if anyone is running them yet.
It looks like they would not fit a shock tower car even if the shock towers were notched.

i dont think anyone has them yet as i orderd a set almost a year ago and still no word on when they will be done.
there is another new boss head on the market that are really nice from todd miller, and they have sets ready to ship.
the 67/68 mustang is very close to the 69 engine compartment, and engine will fit if you notch the shock towers like ford did.
i did mine and they came out ok,also it helps to drop the upper control arms 1 inch so you have a little more room for the headers and to remove valve covers.
also i used off the shelf hedman headers and crites second benaration mounts that move engine down and back about 3/4 in.i only had to ding the headers very little here and there.not as bad as kooks in a fox body!lol.

I have had my 460 in my 67 and in my 69, width is the same except the 69 had the big block wrap around reinforcement. My 67 has the shock towers notched as far as they will go and the upper control arms lowered 1 inch which allowed the shock towers to be notched further down. I have the Crites gen II headers and mounts. What is the part number of the Hedman headers that you used?

I have been toying with the idea of doing a boss head big block for my 70 Torino... my initial plan was (is?) to do an A head or P51 head stroker at the end of the summer... but have been toying with the idea of saving another year and doing boss heads the following summer... but too would like to see what others have done... and how much trouble it will be do put this motor in a 70s shock tower Ford...

I am wondering if the exhaust I have now would work, or if the exhaust ports are in a different spot. It looks like you would need special pistons, but maybe that would depend on compression, I'm guessing you would need pistons no matter what, but I don't know.

Does anybody know, are the heads alone without valve covers taller than stock?

Kaase heads are not taller than stock and the ports are in production location.
I don't know what you're after as far as compression however, a Flat-Top piston is over 10/1 ratio.

Well the first 12 people who put deposits down should be getting calls this week or the next. There's another 24 sets after that being finished in shop is what I got when I called to order some things. I hope I heard right and I was 7th on the list

Here is where we're at: We have 50 heads here now, finished. We are assembling them and are ready to ship to the people who have had their deposits here the longest. In a week we will have another 50 here, finished. We have 30 sets of rockers in stock, 90 finished valve covers, and 50 intake manifolds. The manifolds are being finished machined here, now.
We were here at 7:30 this morning (Father's Day) machining them. Also 46 finished P-51's will be here next week. This is a very important project for us. It's just that with the weak economy, the foundrys and other vendors we deal with are actually slower to produce and get things delivered. Maybe it's their smaller work force? I look forward to having some on the shelf, as well as having all the backorders filled soon.
All this and keeping up 14 pro stock cars, with a work force of 5. At least we're not looking for more work! ..... Kaase

Thanks for letting us know. I called today, your mailbox is full. I'll try again during the week maybe when you're not so busy.
