Default Push rod length

Just set my new Super Cobra Jet A heads on the block to check things out. My push rods are too short (8.780 for my DOVE heads). I'm using Comp Cams aluminum roller rockers 1.73 ratio. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks,
Paul

Not so quick boys...I'd already read the first one. Old and Canadian don't necessarily mean stupid! I was looking for a definitive answer and may have found one. Would 9.150 intake and 8.950 exhaust make reasonable sense?

Each combination is going to be a little different. What would make sense would be to buy a push rod length checker and determine EXACTLY what length push rod your particular combo needs.

Measure, measure then measure again. Just to be sure!

i used a JEGS aluminum 3/8" DIA pushrod with 5/16" ends. It was adjustable from 8-9.170" i believe. You only need one and it was cheap. however you will need a 12" caliper to measure the length. I believe the comp cams and trickflow ones have measurements on the actually adjustable pushrod. that way you dont need the 12" caliper for the end measurement.
