MSD ready to run and 6AL questions

I just got a really good deal on a little used MSD 8350 ready to run distributor and a 6AL box, my question is are the two compatible? How does one make the two play together? Is their a harness that makes a clean connection between the two? Should I just run the distributor and sell the box, or, should I sell the distributor and get the 8477 pro billet? Thanks in advance for your help.

Dan

If it is ready to run it does not require a box. If you want to run the 6AL you'll have to use another dist.

You can use it no probs . Use the RTR as is , hook it to the 6AL box and trigger via the white wire .

If the RTR module does play up you can put in a normal pickup and then hook to the 6AL via the mag pickup

Thanks for the replys,
I like simple so the RTR appeals, one less thing to have to test if the spark goes out, less wiring and complication under the hood. The plan for the engine is AFR headed street only 466/72 or 521 (told Scotty I'd decide which soon) 600 H.P. +/_ Do I really need the box for the street? If it is recomended I'll sell the distributor and get the pro billet, if it isn't really needed I'll keep the RTR and sell the box use the money elsewhere....

Use the multi spark CD box.
Much better idle and low speed transition.

Sell your ready to run and get a distributor with mag pick up and vacuum advance.

That's settled, I have the RTR distributor listed in the for sale section if anyone is interested, my email is listed and I'll consider offers. Thanks.

Just an FYI, anyone considering buying a 6AL, look at the intellitronix box. Not only is it under $200, its better insulated more like a marine unit, has the exact features as the 6AL, plus it has a nice harness with plugs at the box. Best part is that its made in Ohio and has a LIFETIME warranty from the manufacturer. I run one and its great. https://www.ebay.com/itm/MSD-6AL-rep...72.m2749.l2649
