1986 F250 4x2, pondering new EGR

I am seeing a Standard Motor Products EGV230 valve on Amazon for $33 that would be California smog equip'd, which is what my 460 is right now. And I am seeing a Motocraft EGR gasket as well. I recently had the carb adjusted to Puget Sound elevation for the moment, and I am still relatively new to this vehicle.

Towards the back of the block the valve looks pretty dirty, even though I don't hear anything unusual.

We are located in Tacoma WA.

Your vehicle is not required to pass a visual or tail pipe emissions inspection.

WA state is phasing out emissions testing all together in 2020 because all counties in the state have easily pass air quality mandates and only 750K cars in the entire state had to test last year.

The valve covers and or intake are likely seeping a bit of oil.

Getting your cam timing straight up and a properly curved distributor will really wake up the old broad.

Most of my family is in CA and NV, and if I end up transferring to an office in my company in CA the next couple of years and still have this rig, I want to be prepared.
