Distributor 460\429

Looking for a good Distributor for my ford 429. Most recommend the HEI Electronic Distributor but in 50k, 60K, 65K. Does it matter that much which one to choose. Here are some random recommendations I've gotten:
Pro Billet Distributor Wpm-6606-bl
Cardone 84-2813 Single Vacuum
PerTronix D332710 Billet Mag Trigger Distributor
PROFORM 66969B HEI Pro Series
Scott Drake IGN-D1352 HEI
Speedmaster PCE376-1044, PCE376-1182, PCE376-1047

I went with a MSD ready to run distributor and blaster coil. Looks nice and its a 3 wire setup then timing.

install a pertronix in your dist, or buy a msd


you could also convert to dur a spark ford, but that takes a box, as does the msd

pertronix is the simplest

If you do get a new distributor be careful removing the old one. When I pulled the old one out of my engine the oil pump pickup shaft came with it.

Better than having fall into pan like my FE did to me.

One recommendation was to replace the stock HEI ignition with an MSD ignition box, coil, and billet distributor

Anyone try this A-Team Performance HEI Complete Distributor 65K Coil Compatible with BBF Big Block Ford. Will it still require an ignition

why/ cause its cheaper?

msd,duraspark,and pertonix are all a proven product. and can be bought over the counter at many diff places

Talk to Scotty at Parkland in Tacoma. He will custom curve a duraspark for you based on a conversation with you about the rig and your expectations. Very knowledgeable.
