Right front cooling Passage seems to be plugged. Is this normal.

I just took a photo of the head gasket I removed and the front cooling passage is blocked off. Is this correct?

The first photo is a closer look at rear cooling passage and the second is the front cooling passage of the head gasket I removed.

Cool

The head gasket is supposed to block that passage to force water to the rear first. If the garbage shown blocks coolant flow around the cylinder then you need to address this.

It appears that some cooling system maintenance was overlooked.

ok so now would be a good time to clean out that blockage of crud. I also noticed that the crankshaft doesn't have the external counterweight on it. Will this be a problem?

Thanks

1973 460's are internally balanced. Spacer is not weighted.
