Lakewood bellhousing?

After installing a Lakewood Bellhousing I find out my input shaft is not going in the pilot bushing. The new bellhousing is almost an inch bigger than stock. Do I need a longer input shaft made? This is going in a 72 Ford 3/4T. with a 460, stock 4spd. tranny.

Shaft?

You could get rid of the bellhousing and get a stock length one. The bell housing you have would probly be more desirable to someone with a multiple disc clutch. Or you could try a truck tranmission in there, the F-600 4 speed had a longer input shaft, but it also was probly 1 3/8- 10 spline, which would be bigger than what you have now.
