BBF Fox Mustang should weigh how much?????

I would like to get my 80 fox in the 2700 pound range without the driver. I plan to strip it down pretty good but may not be able to buy the fancy stuff like chrome moly A- arms. The title says that it weighs in at 2700 with the 4cyl. Am I asking to much or does this sound reasonable with a BBF. Thanks Chris

pretty close, my 88 coupe has the normal lightening stuff done to it (ac,heater, seats, bumpers, lift-off hood, etc) along with a tubular frt subframe, lower arms, coilovers. With a 1/2 tank of fuel (12 gallon cell) it weighs 2765.

The BBF actually does not weigh all that much more than the 2.3L, but you also have the extra weight of the transmission and rearend. Still if you have a coupe it should be possible because 80's are a bit lighter, a hatch might be a touch more but not much. Getting read of the factory wiring will make a big difference in weight as well as all of the sound proofing.

Is this a street or drag car?

If its a drag only. Loose the door windows for some lexan, cut the door bracing out from inside the doors... lots of things to loose weight if your drag only..
