Just got home from 2 days of racing.
I had 2 days or nights actually racing this weekend, first was Friday night at Columbia MO. These boys in MO play rough, and I didn't win in the open class so ended up in fourth, but managed to pull a 2nd out in modified Then tonight was Chillicothe MO, and the truck was spot on dialed in, starting out in open class I got down to the final race, and the truck was acting up, throughing flames out the exhaust on the left side and popping, sounded like I lost a rocker or a lifter so I scracthed out and took a second. Well back to the trailer with it and got looking at the rockers and nothing was loose then noticed that the header bolts had backed out and had a major exhaust leak, tightened it up and borrowed a header bolt from another driver, fired it up and ran perfect. I felt stupid about scratching out on the final race for the open class but better safe than sorry, and I have too much money in this engine to scatter it for a lousy race and a bad rocker. So onto modified, I did lose in the first round, so had to fight my way back up the losers bracket. But like I said this little sucker was dialed in a running hard, made it all the way back up through the losers side to the final race, the other guy hadn't lost yet, got him first time, had to switch lanes and run again as we each had one loss. cut a perfect light and womped up on some chebbie tail. short track only about 180ft I was in third gear with the shift light on, and for those that want to do the math, my actual tire diameter at race preasure is 37.5" with 4.63 gears well that adds up to better than a 88mph wheel speed at the finish line.
Like I said it was dialed in and running good. Came off the line like a rocket and never backed off all the way through the pit, it just ran straight and hard. Man if feels good to have it running right again.
Sorry no vids the cam battery was dead, but maybe next weekend I can get some to post.
