Carb tuning companies

I have seen in past posts some names of companies that offer carbs that have been tuned to a customers setup, but I can't find their names. Can someone help me out here?

Thanks
Alan

Dave McClain's favorite is Competition Carburation (775) 331-5609.

I got a 950HP from him that worked VERY good.

Ty of TPC carbs is another carb specialist who is occaisionally on this forum (and HotBoat). I think the name of the guy Dave McLain uses is Bobby Oliver (contact info mentioned above).

As posted earlier I would highly recommend using Bobby at Competition Carburetion Sparks NV. 775-331-5609. I was just out there at his shop last week learning some stuff about carburetors and seeing how things are done. He puts a TON of effort into his carburetor builds and each one is personally run on a test engine before it goes out the door. He was telling me that his test engine has been run with over 3000 different carburetors!

If you send your carburetor to him this is about the time to do it because his busy season is just around the corner.

Thanks for the replys

Thanks for the replies. I'll start making some calls, I've got a 1050 dommy now, and I'd like to have it gone through and hopefully set up better for my motor.

Do you know if they have a website?

The only website Bobby has is what I've set up for him. It's very simple and it's tied into our website www.mclainsautomotive.com I did put some new pictures on there the other day showing a few things from his shop, flow bench, carb building etc.

u might try Willy's, in Mt. Carmel IL. he makes his own metering blocks and i think even main bodies for holley carbs. tony stewart and a few other nextel cup drivers run his carbs also. he has an in house chassis and engine dyno, gained us nearly 50 horse at the wheels on our pullin truck.

That would not be a very good statement to be wrong about. I've not heard anything to that effect, he did a good job by the accounts I've heard, he was fairly generous with carb info on the boards and a decent guy to boot, if there's another story, I'm not aware.
