Saturday @ IRR

Sullivan's old 604, freshened with a few things corrected.

Before we took it apart:
1.05
2.97
4.602
@150.35 best pass in my 1935lb 4 link dragster. It had ran 4.54 the week before in his car.

After:
1.042
2.93
4.55
@ 152.08

I am pleased. Sullivan gave me a very good combo, and it shows.

At 1850 lbs where most dragsters fall with "fit" drivers, that's a 4.45, as I'm not the fittest boy you've ever seen.

I haven't seen the new combo run in person yet but this weekend I'll see it at Immokalee double header. I'll have video of it after this weekend.

Congratulations Robert! I knew that you got a good piece when you got it from him, and you finessed it even more.

What did you ever do with the EX514 heads? Got any e.t. slips?

Charlie,
I didn't really finess it anymore, I think it was just a combination of some new pistons, and a freshen up. It had a couple of cracks in the pistons near the valve reliefs. Almost didn't catch them while we were doing everything.

Craig got it humpin, and I'm trying not to hurt it any.

My 598 with your EX 514's went a best of 1.07- [email protected]@ 179

With that motor in the car, the car is 54 lbs heavier than with Craig's motor in there. 1984lbs. vs 1930

So, I am real happy with that motor, as it's only about .14 slower in the 1/8 than the C headed motor. You done good Charlie.

Robert,

Thanks for the compliment. Yes, that 54 lbs. does make a difference. Some of your 1/8th data is very similiar to Phillip Oakley's data, i.e. A-460 headed engine and C-460 headed engine. I know Phillip has the C-460 headed engine detuned a little so it doesn't shake the tires so hard, but anyway, interesting read. We're all proud of you!
